Every DJ and their dog may be making – or claiming to make – deep house at the moment, but long before all that, club night Need2Soul was celebrating the purer strain of this musical artform and its roots in the Chicago and Detroit electronic scenes. For the bank holiday special they've secured two undisputed heavyweights from the city that started it all, Chicago: Glenn Underground – founder of the acclaimed Strictly Jaz Unit project and a master at relaying house that blends jazz, disco and soul – and Boo Williams, a modern master of melodic house and the other half of Strictly Jaz Unit, as it happens.
