It was pretty disappointing I have to say, and my friends felt the same. Seemed like the attitude of the organizers was - we'll let people come all dressed up and glam and that will be enough to make it a fun night. There was a live band at the beginning, which was nice but not something that would make you dance all night. For me personally the music didn't let me forget about all the rubbish and broken glasses on the floor and enjoy myself. So all I remember is trying to clean the floor under my feet. It was also super dark in the room, with no light effects really, which didn't help creating a festive atmosphere. When the band was gone, the DJ was not much better and the acoustics was terrible.. Cheap attitude all in all...

With Baz Luhrmann's glamorous adaptation of Fitgerald's 'The great Gatsby' soon to be released, it's no surprise that a host of prohibition era parties are popping up everywhere. In the ballroom tonight – which will be decked out like Gatsby's mansion – you can try your luck at a spot of gambling away from the prying eyes of the law. Or simply get sloshed on moonshine and bop the night away to Jazz Age tunes. Of course, the night wouldn't be anything without its fabulously dressed crowd, so do make an effort for the occasion. DC: 1920s (think flapper dresses, feathered headbands, tuxedos, top hats and spats).
