  • Kill the DJ is the name of a monthly Parisian club and one of the very best compilation series going. Optimo’s twisted offering two years ago is still selling strong. Ivan Smagghe returns (he would, though; he runs the whole shebang with Fany Corral) with fellow Parisian Chloé under the guise of the Dysfunctional Family; the ace B&W covershot is of a masculine-looking Chloé and Ivan Smagghe with eye-shadow. Inside, it’s clear that ‘genre and gender have been longtime dead and buried’. Deep, dark and quite often filthy. Highlights: Enrik’s ‘Why Do You Love Me So’, Musicargo’s addictive ‘One Way Ticket’, and there’s even stuff you can sing to. We like. A whole lot.
