The least you would expect from the ex-Pulp duo is an exciting, eclectic collection, and they sure do deliver that, jumping around from Carl Orff’s wonderful opener ‘Gassenhauer’ to Arlo Guthrie and Add N To (X), from emotionally overwrought Gene Pitney to the electronically warped Psychic TV. There’s heaps of classy croonin’, countryfied tunage and crazy-beautiful cover versions (the Human League’s ‘I Love Rock’n’Roll’, Moon Dog’s ‘Lost In Music’, Dion’s ‘Purple Haze’) here, with CD2 boasting rockin’, rollin’, twisted and loopy sonic treats from the Polecats ‘John I’m Only Dancing’ to David Essex’s ‘Rock On.’ Go get it.
