  • The experience was awful for both the audience and the comedians. The comedy club failed to control certain members of the audience and as a result instead of comedy we got nothing but shouting and swearing. The comedians were not able to perform because of certain members of the crowd. Instead of telling jokes the comedians spent the whole time yelling at members of the audience to be quiet- we felt like we were back at school. The compere seemed to wind the audience up rather than settling them down. A few of the conedians looked close to tears. I have frankly never expereinced anything like it. We were having such an awful time that we left during the interval. We were scared that if we stayed there would be a fight. We noticed that several other couples also left the club at the same time.  We will not be attending the comedy night or visiting the pub again. I have already contacted the pub to suggest that in future the comedy club/pub removes groups that are causing a disturbance and stops serving them alcohol.
