Founded in 1981, this venue is still run with huge enthusiasm by the immensely knowledgeable promoter, Pete Grahame. In late 2015, the club had a big refurbishment, including installing facilities for internet broadcast.
It's an easy-going club with a popular pub over the basement venue, where photographs of previous acts line the walls like a comedy hall of fame. Below ground, comedians tend to experiment and play around with complete freedom, and acts range from variety and cabaret to quality names such as Simon Munnery and Stewart Lee.
