    'That Mitchell and Webb Look'

  • Favourite ‘Peep Show’ co-stars Olivia Colman and Paterson Joseph join the pair for sketches like Numberwang, a hilariously absurdist take on the game show format where no-one knows what they’re doing. More often, though, it’s just the pair of them. As drunken snooker commentators hunched over their mics and imaginative drinking vessels, or self-questioning Nazis in the midst of battle or – best of all – two supremely daft superheroes by the name of Angel Summoner and BMX Bandit. Poor BMX Bandit, every time he hatches a brilliant plan of attack on the baddies involving various daring stunts, his partner just summons up a host of angels to deal with the problem. What Mitchell and Webb manage to do, as with their essentially nerdy ‘Peep Show’ characters, is make their creations human enough to sympathise with, however ridiculous they are.

That Mitchell And Webb Look, Thursday 14, 9.30-10pm, BBC2 Feature continues
