    Comedy

    Sara Pascoe Comedy
One of the hottest rising stars on the comedy circuit and star of Channel 4’s ‘Free Agents’, she could be the first woman since Catherine Tate to break through to the mainstream. There’s more talent in this young lady than you could shake a particularly big stick at. Go and see what all the fuss is about.
    Soho Theatre, 21 Dean St, W1D 3NE. (7478 0100/www.sohotheatre.com). June 5 & 6.

    Jamie Kilstein Comedy
There are few truly insightful, passionate and hysterically funny polictical comedians around, and even fewer coming out of the States. New Yorker Kilstein is a shining light probing into the murkier corners of the religious right and corrupt politics in his homeland. Funny and insightful, he’s taken Bill Hicks’s baton and ran with it. Soho Theatre, 21 Dean St, W1D 3NE. (7478 0100/www.sohotheatre.com). July 15-18.

    Rhys Darby Live in London
Though perhaps best known as Murray, the manager in ‘Flight of the Conchords’, or from his appearances in films such as ‘The Yes Man’ or ‘The Boat That Rocked’, Darby is also an incredibly adept stand-up, whose physicality and vocal dexterity set him apart from many of his peers. Sublimely talented and wonderfully warm-hearted, these now rare shows will be a real treat. Bloomsbury Theatre, 15 Gordon St, London, C1H 0AH (7388 8822/www.thebloomsbury.com). July 27-31.

    Doug Stanhope Comedy
Legendary hellraiser and no-holds-barred stand-up comedian Stanhope is the kind of comic we love. Mad, bad and very dangerous to know. No subject is taboo and nothing is off limits, and which Doug will turn up on the night largely depends on what he’s drunk or taken prior to or during the show. His freewheeling madness is barely contained by his viciously sharp and creative mind. Leicester Square Theatre, 6 Leicester Place, WC2H 7BX (0844 847 2475/www.leicestersquaretheatre.com). Sept 1-6.
