Underground Magazine recommend their top London comedy picks

Having taken control of the Comedy section, the team behind Underground Magazine compromise with Time Out's regular comedy editor Ben Williams to highlight the best stand up, satire and more in London this week.

Underground's choice

  • 1. Underground Magazine

Look out for the second issue of this new satirical freesheet, or download a copy at undergroundmgzn.com. They definitely didn’t force me to put them as No 1 Critics’ Choice! (Can you ungag me now? ‘Just keep typing, Ben.’)

  • 2. Hanging Out Outside Andrew's House

Free Fri May 25, Next to the bins

Flashmob stakeout to find out if Andrew’s been sleeping with that slag Kirsty while I’ve been at work compiling listings. I’ll mostly be quaking with rage or crying hysterically but it’ll still be fun, though. Arrive early for a good spot in the best bushes.

  • 3. Oxbridge Comedians

Sun May 27, Balliol College Bar

Quirky and delightful sketch shows by some people who went to Oxbridge and now want to write for 'Have I Got News For You'. Featuring a guy saying ‘Banter!’ on stage for 45 minutes, followed by a series of jokes about the Bodleian Library, Christ Church College and the charming minutiae of being rich, white and male.

  • 4. A Very Dubstep Jubilee

Recommended Mon May 28, The Goatse Arms

Some dubstep wunderkinder presents an evening of face-melting music to honour the HRH Elizabeth II’s 60 years on the throne. Special guests include Princes William and Harry, who will crunk for three hours to the underground smash, ‘Flobadob’.

  • 5. Trading Laughs - 'Double the dip, double the fun!'

FreeRecommended Wed May 30, London Stock Exchange

A side-splitting few hours spent with some of the most important financial traders of their generation. They’ll be asking for volunteers from the crowd to come up and hand over their mortgages, so make sure you don’t sit in the front row. We predict laughs galore – as well as negative growth for at least two consecutive quarters!
*Children under 12 will pay off the debt for generations.
