The ballroom dances will include waltz, foxtrot, quickstep, tango, rhumba, cha-cha, smooch and jive. Music for these dances will be played in fifteen minute blocks, There will be a quick 'reminder' of five minutes of instruction before each dance. Records played will be thirties style for quickstep and foxtrot, romanitic movie style for waltz, argentinian style for tango, and modern and R & B for cha cha and jive. An inspiring dance band will play live from 9 to 10 pm. It's held in the back room of an old pub, where a sprung wooden dance floor leads out to a garden, where one can sit quietly and drink and smoke if so desired. Glamorous dress is encouraged, black tie for men prefered but not essential, gowns for women. We try to get a civilised atmosphere, and ages of our guests are mixed. Couples and singles (especially men) are welcome, as are both straights and gays. I am the enthusiatic ballroom dance student who has organised these dances witht the help of some fellow enthusiasts George Tudor-Hart
