Riot Offspring

The final performance in Sadler's Wells' String of Rites series, celebrating the centenary of the 'Rite of Spring'. 'Riot Offspring' is the inaugural performance of the National Youth Dance Company, a group of talented dancers aged 16-19 under the direction of choreographer Jasmin Vardimon. They'll be performing alongside an intergenerational cast drawn from the local community and led by choreographers including Ivan Blackstock from hip hop company BirdGang and Pascal Merighi from Pina Bausch's company. Inspired by the original 'Rite of Spring' and the uproar that greeted its premiere, themes of rage, rioting and ritual will all be explored in this new show.
