Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch
Time Out says
Thu Nov 22 2012
Following the company's marathon London run in summer 2012, Pina Bausch's Tanztheater Wuppertal is back with two more works, separated by 20 years. The first, 'Two Cigarettes in the Dark', from 1985, is an absurdist reflection on life's monotony (Feb 14-17); the second, 2006's 'Vollmond' ('Full Moon'), is a more mellow piece, set on a waterlogged stage, that revisits some of Bausch's favourite themes: femininity, courtship and relations between the sexes (Feb 22-25). Bausch's inimitable and hugely influential style of dance theatre can be divisive, but if you've never seen it, it's definitely worth finding out what the fuss is about.
