A Brazilian-themed bar and restaurant from D&D.

Please note, Floridita is now closed and replaced by 100 Wardour Street. Time Out Food & Drink Editors, December 2015.

As you might expect from a Brazilian-themed bar, venue and restaurant, Floridita is a fine place for a centrally located fix of Latin grooves, funk, soul, salsa, blues, jazz and globally-minded beats. An impressive range of live acts and musicians strut their stuff on an almost daily basis, and DJs keep things bopping until 3am at weekends.

Should you want an extra dose of Central and Sotuh American authenticity, there's also plenty of pan-Latin food to munch on and exotic cocktails (think rum. Looooots of rum) to sup while you boogie.

Visited on a busy Saturday night, but had no problem getting in. Loved the live music, the atmosphere was roaring downstairs. Staff seemed to remove drinks before we were finished, which was disappointing but when you do get to keep your drink, the cocktails are good not amazing. A great atmosphere for dancing so be prepared to move. The crowd is a good mix of ages, with the main focus on your dance moves.

So my friend's parents generously took me to Floridita after paying for my ticket for Dirty Dancing. The restaurant was not chosen due to proximity to the theatre but because said friend's mum is a massive fan of all things Cuban. Little did we know that it was the one night in the year when Cuba gets overthrown by Sting and the Police's tribute band. We had opted for the three course meal which was pretty delightful - other than the fact it was physically impossible to make out any kind of conversation for the whole three courses due to "ROXANNE" being blasted out of the amps. This meant that I had to devote myself to two hours of appreciate smiles, nodding, thumbs ups and okay sign gestures to convey my gratitude. Delicious cocktails afterwards though, so well redeemed Floridita.
