Directly north of Paddington is the tranquil pocket affectionately known as Little Venice. The area is a popular tourist attraction mainly due to the picturesque canals with Narrowboat cruises travelling between Little Venice and Camden Lock. Treat yourself to gloriously juicy Chinese at Pearl Liang, seafood delights at Summerhouse or a spot of light entertainment at the Canal Café. hi well i have to say little venice is great. so much history and famous people to tell the truth. Have a walk up Randolph named after ( randolf churchill ) avenue and see lilly langtrees house a famous actress who also used to be the mistress of king george.incedentley it was also the house that madonna famoulsly lost by being guzzumped. The area also is the residing area for joan collins edward fox jenny seagrove to name but few. Walk up randolf road and see lots of beautiful houses.don't be fooled they are only red bricked with plaster over them. Stone Pinapples outside the houses years ago were used as a sign of wealth. The area also has a block of council flats that were the cause of the homes for votes scandal by the tories a few years ago. The hotel in the area used to be a maternity hospital and one famous man born there was edward turin? i think thats how you spell it. He was the man who invented the electronic device that broke the german enigma code in the second world war. May be the one man who truly won us the war. Little venice is beautiful. You can walk around the canal by the waters edge Enjoy
Rich - Sorry if this is a little late now, but why not try leaving the same message on the TA (trip advisor) website as I'm sure someone on there will be able to advise you regarding walks. Sorry I can't be of any help, I don't know the area well but we had a lovely boat trip from Little Venice along the Regents Canal to Camden Lock and back which is worth doing in my opinion (you can do one-way, return or alight at various stops enroute). There is also a very nice garden centre called Clifton Nurseries who do lovely lunches, home made cakes, teas etc if you want a bite to eat. Enjoy your trip to London whatever you end up doing!
Can anyone give me an ideal walking tour of Little Venice. There seems to be loads to do, but where exactly should one begin and end an ideal picturesque walk.
Couldn't Time out it, perhaps an avid guide reader could drop me a line or link to richmck7@yahoo.com ( Will be in London for the Easter period )
Many thanks
