City Hall
Open House London is a strong contender for the capital's most exciting annual event, offering free access to an astonishing variety of buildings – from private homes to government offices. In 2011 it takes place on September 17 and 18.
Although the majority of the 700 venues taking part in this architecture fest are accessible on a ‘turn up on the day’ basis, (free) tickets are required for a small number. Our round-up of bookable events provides a taste of what’s on offer. The new Open House app also helps sift through the venues.
For more info on times and how to book go to www.londonopenhouse.org.

There is a beautiful timber framed and clad house extension in Walthamstow, by Neil Dusheiko Architects, on the list this year. It's a charming design that has made a clever connection to the existing cramped terrace house creating a light and spacious feel. It says the architect will be there on the day giving tours which will be good opportunity to find out more.
