  The sister branch of the popular and good-value Shepherd’s Bush Syrian restaurant is open for business as usual on New Year’s day. It’s not your average Edgware Road joint – the menu includes many rare (for London) Damascene dishes. There’s no alcohol though, so you’ll need to wait till after lunch for a New Year’s toast.
