Brixton Dogstar (389 Coldhabour Lane, SW9) is spacious and bustling.
Camden Crown & Goose (100 Arlington Rd, NW1) and Lock Tavern, (35 Chalk Farm Rd, NW1) are the best places to grab a drink near the market.

East Street The Bell (51 East St, SE17) is a friendly local.
Greenwich The Trafalgar Tavern (Park Row, SE10) is a good place to while away time overlooking the river.
Leadenhall Lamb Tavern (10-12 Leadenhall Market, EC3) is a traditional pub serving a fine pint of Young’s.
Portobello Portobello Gold (95-97 Portobello Rd, W11) recently refurbished, this is still Portobello Road’s best and busiest pub.
Spitalfields The Ten Bells (84 Commercial St, E1) and Golden Heart (110 Commercial St, E1), are great traditional English pubs.

How can you say Whitechapel market is one of London’s best? It is one of the worst! It is dirty and the stallholders don’t seem to have much regard for the environment – there is rubbish all over the place. I think it should be shut down!
