    SEASIDE
There’s nothing quite like the feeling of sand between your toes, the sound of lapping waves or the smell of the seaside in Olde Blighty. Southend boasts seven miles of sparkling seafront stretching all the way from Shoeburyness to Leigh-on-Sea. The jewel in this coastal crown has to be Shoeburyness’s long, sandy and popular East Beach, with its grassy headland and zoned-off area for watersports, such as windsurfing. Further along you’ll find the more pebbly West Beach, which has a controlled slipway for personal watercraft and dinghies, catering for seafarers who’d rather be out on the water than splashing about in it. Also in the area is the smaller Three Shells beach, a sandy strip which has received awards for its cleanliness, perfect for families and handily only three minutes walk from Southend town centre.
