Suburb strolling
There are two kinds of walking: the brisk version that involves moving at speed, arms pumping, eyes straight ahead, which is frankly rather too much like jogging, and the amble, which is a bit slower but includes noticing things and talking but a good deal less sweat. In the past the guided walks on offer in London took place in the centre of town and stuck mostly to tried-and-tested themes, exploring topics such as Dickens, Shakespeare, and pubs. Recently there’s been a boom in the number of walks on offer in the more far-flung reaches of the capital, such as Kilburn, Barnet and Ealing. Some are freebies offered by Blue Badge guides to showcase their talents; others are organised by councils to promote their local attractions; a few are self-guided tours that you can download. You can join walks based on literary or historic figures, meaderings devoted to mushrooms, touring the Middle East cafés on the Edgware Road, and saunters in search of bats. Take it from us: jaunting is the new jogging.

Why not go to the original painting gig at Westbourne Studios in Notting Hill. They do recycled canvases for £30 and it is a way cooler venue. www.fig108.com
£40 is steep and makes me think it might only attract city types, etc (who I'm not necessarily interested in meeting). The materials can't cost much more than a fiver so I'd be expecting a lobster dinner for my money.
I agree with Marcus - I'd love a go at this but it's far too expensive... I would maybe fork out 25 quid.
good idea but so exspensive. can we people not organise something this simple with a smaller price? paintjam at your house!
