Variety shows
The Big Fibbers are ex-punk musician Nigel Knapp and failed pantomime villain Michael McDonough-Jones, who once wrote an operetta about cricket. Their ‘Bucket of Fun’ is a variety show for the twenty-first century with musical acts, cabaret artists, poets and occasionally, as if by accident, a stand-up. It takes place on the first Friday of each and every month in the basement of a Turkish café in Stoke Newington. There’s also an actual bucket containing strange and beautiful things that members of the audience can win.Big Fibbers Beautiful Bucket of Fun, Bodrum Café, 61 Stoke Newington High St, N16 8EL (020 7254 6464/www.bigfibbers.co.uk).

Why not go to the original painting gig at Westbourne Studios in Notting Hill. They do recycled canvases for £30 and it is a way cooler venue. www.fig108.com
£40 is steep and makes me think it might only attract city types, etc (who I'm not necessarily interested in meeting). The materials can't cost much more than a fiver so I'd be expecting a lobster dinner for my money.
I agree with Marcus - I'd love a go at this but it's far too expensive... I would maybe fork out 25 quid.
good idea but so exspensive. can we people not organise something this simple with a smaller price? paintjam at your house!
