Kate Moss
Thursday
More Moss: OK, so we all now know that Kate Moss is designing a range for Topshop, but did you know it’s going to be two whole collections a season? The first one lands in stores from the end of March next year. Ms Moss had to endure a night out on the town with her new boss Philip Green this week, but then that’s a small price to pay considering her pay packet is rumoured to be gazillions.
This season London Fashion Week hasn’t only been an excellent launch pad for some seriously good new design talent but for some new models too. Fresh faces that stood out on the catwalk include Premier Model’s striking 15-year-old redhead, Alice Gibb, who towers high at nearly 6ft. The daughter of a brain surgeon from the south coast took a couple of days off school to appear on the London catwalks, including the brilliant Christopher Kane show. We hear Prada already have their eye on her and Mario Testino has just photographed her for British Vogue. Look out Lily Cole, there’s another redheaded beauty in town.
Other faces to remember include the lovely brunette Rosa Curtain, who trod the catwalks for Peter Jensen, Biba and Laura Lees. The 17-year-old, who is represented by ICM Models, has a classic blank-canvas beauty that is destined to go far. Models1 sultry new Ukrainian Valentyna, who appeared in Topshop Unique, Asley Islam and Armani, is also turning heads.
Trend alert: neon nails, as sported by stylist Helen Jennings; leopard print as seen on Immodesty Blaize and Robin Pawlonski; layers/ruffles, as modelled by stylist Valentria Tiurbini; shorts, as worn by A&R girl Kehinde.

Trends from the catwalks
Statement shoes
Shoes are the new bags. Big, chunky, beautifully crafted shoes have replaced the statement bag this season. Stop saving for that Mulberry Roxanne; start investing for a pair of handmade YSL platforms. Or just go to Topshop.
Black nails
No, the fashion pack have not all slammed their fingers in the doors of Harvey Nicks, this season THE nail colour to be seen in is glossy black, preferably by Chanel. Contrasted with bright accessories to avoid going over-Goth...
Shell shift dresses
At the Marios Schwab show last night, many eager to impress showgoers had a quick change of outfit in the portaloos. Embarrassingly, almost all of them emerged in painfully similar outfits with a sea of black or navy blue shell shift dresses rustling through the gardens of Holland Park in the run up to the show. Congratulations to the one who teamed hers with knee-high silver platform boots - that's one way of distinguishing your look from the crowd's...

Pale skin
Perhaps the allure of the tan is finally fading: not a tanned limb has been seen anywhere on the catwalk this Fashion Week. Good news for Erin O Connor, who has sat front row at every notable show, with her trademark alabaster complexion looking like it had never seen the rude light of day. Shame on the girls heard sniggering about her "dreadful skin". We don't hear M&S complaining about the face of their latest collections.
Drag queens
Various young drag queens have been spotted out and about at the shows, from Gareth Pugh to Zandra Rhodes, and especially at the parties. They also seem to be acting as a source of inspiration for London designers – big platform shoes, skinny trousers and exaggerated silhouettes, as favoured by the new generation of glammed-up trannies, have been seen across town. To find out more, don’t miss next week’s Consume section in Time Out magazine.
