London Fashion Week blog: top ten shows

    Cassette Playa's colourful menswear

  • 1. Giles
A beautifully executed collection designed by Giles Deacon, that merged fine couture-like craftsmanship with punkish street elements. His strongest collection so far.

    2. Christopher Kane
Bold, bright and accomplished first collection that took inspiration from vintage Versace and Azzedine Alaia. Expect this young Scot to go very far indeed.

    3. Roksanda Ilincic
Elegant and feminine, Serbian designer Ilincic has made fine frocks her forte. This year, she added volume in the form of little bustles and oversized puff sleeves. Feature continues

    4. Cassette Playa
Crazy, colourful and bursting with humour, designer Carri Munden is making us rethink menswear.

    5. Gareth Pugh
The most shocking but brilliantly inventive show of the week. Much as we adore you, we won’t be sporting the PVC face stockings if you don’t mind though, Gareth.

    6. Danielle Scutt
Strong debut from the Fashion East designer who is set on creating an assertive new persona for women, with neat ruffled mini skirts, nipped-in jackets and patent high heels.

    7. Preen
A pale and interesting figure-revealing collection from designers Thea Bregazzi and Justin Thorton, who celebrate the label's 10th year, this season.

    8. Mario Schwab

Body-skimming cuts, dresses with lingerie-influences and intricate cuts, this line-up offered something a little bit special.

    9. Sinha-Stanic

Elegantly cut slim dresses, trousers and shorts from design duo Fiona Sinha and Alexsandar Stanic, who added a bit of glamour in the form of groovy crystal-encrusted cropped bolero jackets and cut-away waistcoats.

    10. Zandra Rhodes
Vibrant colours, swirly prints, floaty kaftans and a flamboyant 1970s spirit that livened up fashion week no end.
