  • 89 CO shell maps.jpgGerman Shell route maps
‘These old German maps were among the possessions of my late mother-in-law, whose husband had returned to Germany after WWII to float timber down the Rhine. They’re not as interesting to me as the Nazi paraphernalia she dispensed with on the death of her husband (no, I am not some neo-fascist), but there’s still enough history in them for me to treasure for some time yet.’
Derek Adams, Gadgets, games and film writer

Value: £50-£100. Difficult for cartographical experts Stanfords to value, they estimated the maps wouldn’t sell for more than £100.

Feature_junkchallenge1.JPGTwo 1950s scrapbooks full of autographed football pictures
‘These scrapbooks were given to me by a friend of my dad’s, who would stand outside Middlesbrough’s ground in the 1950s asking players to autograph their pictures. They were much more obliging in those days. Some of the individual signatures, such as the Manchester United legend Duncan Edwards, who died in the Munich air disaster aged just 21, are rare and worth a bit, but the collection as a whole is just a nostalgic evocation of a sporting era that now seems positively prehistoric.’
    Andrew Shields, Sport editor
Value: £500-£800. He’s in the money! Bodyline Books quoted £500-£800 thanks to all those rare Busby Babes’ signatures.
