I'm with Chris, TC you should get your facts straight before commenting, I live just off Mare Street and there are loads of Vietnamese restaurants and supermarkets. And yes Victoria Park is in E9!
E12, Manor Park. Home of the famous City of London cemetry where several Jack the Ripper victims and other infamous people are buried. It's beautiful.
Also home to the newly arrived eastern European immigrant community. New eastern European cafes, grocery stores and clubs springing up all over the place.
Fashion? Try the Army and Navy store on Manor Park Broadway for some heavy duty boots and retro jackets.
Victoria Park is NOT in E1, have you guys ever been there?? It's in E9 - which you've skipped.
I love it when an arrogant idiot is so very wrong, TC you should not comment on things you have no knwledge of, the London Fields end of Mare Street is a wash with Viet restaurants and even have a Viet night club!
There are 2 rather fine Vietnamese eateries by the Hackney Empire plus a few Viet grocers. What did happen to E9?
E8 for Vietnamese food? Errr, no: the cluster on Kingsland Rd are in E2.
Ever noticed that when Time Out writes about something you know about it's always...wrong?
... and what about E9? Thought this is where all the artists packed off to after being priced out of Shoreditch....
What a load of crud article. Chingford isn't even IN Essex (if you look at a map!) as it's the City of London's garden, according to Dr Johnson, and it's most famous attraction is King Henry VIII's hunting lodge - Queen Elizabeth I's favourite retreat where "my childhood heart will always remain". Three people who are slightly more famous than Norman Tebbit.
What the... How could you skip E2, are you mad! Now if you look on your own ebsite you will see that most things that happen in East London are in Bethnal Green, and therefore E2. I am flabogasted!
