Back in August, we handed the Time Out cover and the pages of the magazine over to real Londoners to use as their own personal classified ads. In search of stories of true love (or disastrous dates), we caught up with some of them to find out what happened...

Being on the front cover of Time Out was bizarre. I didn’t like the picture – it wasn’t bad, I just didn’t think it looked like me. I was out of London when the magazine came out, and I kept getting messages from friends saying, ‘Oh, my God – you’re on a billboard outside my newsagents!’
My school had a ten-year anniversary, and a couple of people who’d only just moved to London were pretty surprised.
I didn’t end up going on most of the dates, because I met a boy the day after the photoshoot. His name’s Dave, and we got together at a friend’s birthday party. We had our first kiss on the bouncy castle, which was nice. Now we’ve both jacked in our jobs and we’re running away.

He’s out in India at the moment, and I’m heading out to Singapore to meet him in January, and we’re going to go and have adventures. I’m looking forward to travelling, and it’ll be really good to have someone to share it with. It’s all a bit of a whirlwind.
The one date I did go on was with the journalist Sir Clement Freud. He asked me out because he said he wanted to interview me for a piece in The Times, but that never transpired – maybe he just wanted to take me out to dinner. We went to Aspinalls casino, which was a bit overwhelming – I’m the kind of girl who normally gets taken out for fish and chips. He was totally professional, but I think he wouldn’t have minded a kiss.
He got a peck on the cheek – he really is old enough to be my grandad.
I probably got around 35 to 50 responses in total – some of the emails were pretty bizarre! Since I’d already found myself a man, I passed the best of the applicants onto my friends – because I like to think of myself as a Cilla Black. One friend did go out with a man I definitely would have tried; I think they had a cheeky kiss, but that was about it.
It was a cool experience, and I think I’d be gutted that I didn’t go on any dates if I hadn’t found the love of my life.
