The comment is quite appropriate, for the "chief spy has proved the "chief traitor ! "
If Oleg was so clever, so shrewd and reasonable, why, the hell, should he become a mere "turncoat" and a traitor.
Once displeased with the Soviet way of life and KGB activities, why not give up all this lousy business and concentrate on something else, become , for instance, the chief librarian in some out-of-the way place, where "Old Macar never happened to shepherd his sheep ! " No, nothing of the kind. He would rather appeal to a foreign power and offer his aniti-russian servies ! A great master of steering through the times of trouble into a quiet haven in UK to sit there on his fat ass to the end of his happy days !
Some great man once said: " In the long run, one has to pay for everything ! "
