    Mother's Day pampering
    Sejour
One of the first salons to move away from practical but faceless décor, Sejour looks like a girlish boudoir in a chi-chi mews house – which is more or less what it is, tucked away in the residential streets behind the Kings Road. There are luxurious touches aplenty: shiatsu massage chairs at the basins, silk kimonos instead of nylon gowns and an on-call chauffeur, but the actual hairdressing is top-notch too. Cuts from £60; half-head highlights from£90.
    Sejour, 3-5 Bray Place, SW3 (08448 848 400/www.sejour.co.uk). Sloane Square tube.

    The Berkeley Spa
This is London’s most glamorous spa, thanks mainly to the open-top swimming pool overlooking Hyde Park. The treatments are fantastic too. A London exclusive, the Neom ‘Top to Toe Organic Indulgence’ is just that. Taking a blissful 2 hours 15 mins, you’ll be thoroughly buffed and polished with a scrub containing sapphires (yes, really),after which follows a long, all-over massage incorporating invigorating yoga-like stretches and ending in a soothing head massage.
The Berkeley Spa, The Berkeley Hotel, Wilton Place, SW1 (7235 6000/www.theberkeley.co.uk). Hyde Park Corner or Knightsbridge tube. 6.30am-10pm Mon-Fri, 8am-8pm Sat, Sun.

    Bliss
    BEST FOR A PEDICURE
Ideal for a quick treat, Bliss does one of the quickest and best pedicures in London. Treat mum to the Double Choc pedicure (brownies and hot chocolate included) or the hour-long Heel Magnolias treatment using a magnolia scrub and warm milk.
    Where Bliss, 60 Sloane Avenue, SW3 (7584 3888 / www.blissworld.com) South Kensington tube. 9.30am-8pm

    Cowshed
A good option if your looking to buy your mother a package of treatments charged by duration. A swift 30 minutes costs £75, a full hour £105. Each time span has a choice of five different packages, like the ‘maintenance’ (consisting of a facial, eyebrow tidy and manicure or pedicure).
    Where Cowshed, 119 Portland Rd, W11 (020 7078 1944 /www.cowshedclarendoncross.com) Holland Park tube. 8.30am-8pm Mon-Fri, 9am-7pm Sat, 10am-5pm Sun.
