  • Suggestion box - help us make your London site better

  • Got a suggestion that would make this site better? We're listening. Please leave a comment below

  • On March 18 we launched this redesigned Time Out site. Our aim was to make it easier on the eye and easier to use. We’ve made the pictures bigger and simplified the search box. We’ve rearranged section pages and changed the look to tie in with the redesigned magazine. And we’ve added Google Maps to our vast database of listings and reviews.

But we haven’t finished yet. There are lots of really useful features we want to offer you and we’re hard at work developing them.

In the meantime we’d really appreciate your comments on what you think would make the site better, right now, from your personal point of view. It could be something really simple, or a really far-fetched wish. Either way, we’re listening.

Please leave your comments below, and thanks.

When you check movies within a radius of a post code, it used to show the theaters listed from closest to farthest from the post code which was very convenient. Now it is alphabetical. Could you change it back?

Pedal Pusher p52 will find less traffick should the Market Porter cycle route be used. It includes Haggerston Park and London Fields and a steep push over the Cat & Fiddle bridge over the canal.
    Perhaps less splashing too?

If you could pull up a map of an area with all the things going on, the sights and the recommended restaurants, cafes and bars that would be cool.

Is there no way to check further out than 14 days? I will be in London in July and would love to know what is going on then, especially with Classical Music and Theatre so thatI can plan my schedule and order tickets in advance.

Thank you all for the comments, we are listening. Specifically:
    - postcode/location based search (angelie, joe) : we did some research before we removed it and it very few people seemed to be using it, so for the sake of simplicity we removed it with the intention of putting it into 'advanced search' however a technical issue has made that take a while - it will be in advanced search very soon. We'll certainly consider bringing it back into the main search if we continue to get comments. Meanwhile we're in the process of a full site redesign where we'll remodel the search again from scratch - and we know that looking at what's on in a certain location is a key way of navigating to content. Thanks for the comments Joe and angelie. keep your eye on the advanced search and give me your thoughts.
Print page (Donald Leigh): we'll definitely add this to the bug list, thanks for pointing it out Donald.
Shopping search (sparkle moore): "why can't you search shops like you can restaurants?" Good question and we're working on a solution to that, it's basically due to the way the information is stored - ie not in an events or restaurants database.
RSS (Humberto): We'll check the RSS feeds Humberto. we aren't aware of any issues. Which one in particular is giving you trouble?
Buy Tickets button (James): We know this is not ideal at present, but we are working on a better ticketing system. We do provide access to a massive range of providers and that is part of the problem.
Mood-based browsing (Tom): great ideas Tom, we are certainly looking at ways to facilitate navigation when you're in different moods eg active-vs relaxed, high-culture vs mindless entertainment. Thanks again for the suggestion, it confirms that fact that there is demand for this kind of thing.
Finally: If anyone reading this would like to be involved in some user-testing of the designs for a new Time Out London site please email me at onlineeditor@timeout.com
    Thanks again for the comments

can we have the rss feeds as feedburner.com feeds so that it is easier to add them to igoogle.com please. cheers.

I'm surprised that there isn't yet a site that allows you to do listing searches based upon why you're looking in the first place, e.g. context-dependent: what mood you're in, rainy days, energy levels, company, to entertain, etc. Trawling through restaurant/music/ performance, sections doesn't seem the most effective way to find inspiration...

The RSS feeds are not working! When i click the link "read more" it opens a blank window saying "Feed not found."

I find the website really useful but I REALLY MISS THE FEATURE WHERE YOU CAN SEARCH BY POSTCODE! Where has it gone? Bring it back! Please! I pay for the mag but used to use the online edition for this all the time!

I have pleaded with you to allow me to write a column about London`s ancient markets. But it`s like talking to a dead donkey.
There is noone who has tracked the fate of the markets so relentless as I or who knows as much about them.
You cut your nose to spite your face, as the saying goes. You`re so keen to be on top of things- to pretend that you know it all- you`re absolutely stuck about not letting me do my thing.
The markets are in deep, deep trouble and so too is tourism in London; because the old markets per se are one of the few things we have left which are vibrant and fun and cockney.
Walthamstow market is being threatened because of the giant shopping mall which is going aheady as it`s got planning permission.
Queen`s Road in Upton Park is threatened as is the mall market in Stratford which replaced the old street market. But now as the landlords want to maximize profit they want to displace the old traders with High Street shops. Many of these traders` families go back generations.

Please, please...write up something about 'THEATRE GRAND-SLAM' at the Bedford on Sunday 11th May....because this isn't typical 'theatre dahling' it's just a really good, funny/a bit bizarre and unique night out that has completely packed out every time they've put it on.
