Go record hunting
Berwick Street, not far from the Time Out office, is like a ‘High Fidelity’ theme park, with a plethora of new and used record stores covering every genre from NWOBHM to spunk jazz. Sounds Of The Universe and Music And Video Exchange are favourites. I can spend hours in search of hidden gems, or at least LPs with cool covers.

Music And Video Exchange, 95 Berwick St, W1V 3PP (020 7434 2939).

Grab a healthy bite
I pop in my headphones and use the multimedia player to listen to my latest tunes, while I eat a healthy, carrot-crunching lunch at Beatroot. This innovative veggie/vegan specialists serve great hot and cold food, and it’s one of my favourite lunch spots.
Beatroot, 92 Berwick St,W1F 0QD (020 7437 8591/www.beatroot.org.uk).
Recreate a famous moment
In the spirit of the ‘Abbey Road’ album cover recreation, why not shoot the famous cover of Oasis’s ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory’. No, not the one with the Rolls in the swimming pool. The one with the bloke walking down Berwick Street. Take a picture with your BlackBerry and upload it onto Facebook for all your mates.
Berwick St, Soho, W1F

Time for a pint
One of the few remaining proper boozers left in Soho. The John Snow is defiantly un-remodelled and wouldn’t know the meaning of the word ‘gastro’.
John Snow, 39 Broadwick St, W1F 9QP (020 7437 1344).
Spot future stars
Once the kind of strip club you’d expect to see in ‘The Sweeney’. Nowadays, though, Jo-Jo’s hosts a dizzying variety of gigs by up-and-coming bands, numerous club nights and industry showcases. Get your BlackBerry Pearl 8110 out and use the video recording function to catch potential chart-toppers for posterity.
Madame Jo Jo’s, 8-10 Brewer St, W1F OSP (020 7734 3040/ www.madamejojos.com).
