    Liza Boyarskaya
Since making her debut at just 18 in 2004’s ‘Der Untergang' ('Downfall'), Liza Boyarskaya has emerged as one of the faces to watch in Russian cinema. Having picked up plaudits on the small screen for her memorable turn in 'Grozovye vorota', she returns to multiplexes this month in 'Admiral'.

What does St Petersburg mean for you?
I didn’t realize how much it meant to me until I left. After living in Moscow for half a year I almost went mad, I felt that I had to go to Petersburg for just a couple of days. I got so used to its canals, tits sea breeze, its low grey skies and almost constant rain… I can’t say I don’t like Moscow, no, but Petersburg is a completely different thing. It’s a huge inspiration for me.

What are your favorite spots in the city?

There are a couple of places where I like to sit alone with a book, Pushkin’s or Blok’s. Letny (Summer) garden is my favourite.

What can you say about Time Out?
I don’t really like magazines, but Time Out is special. When I’m going out, I always buy it, it gives me a nice overview of what’s going on in town. It’s especially helpful when friends from other parts of the world come to visit and I need to take them somewhere. And it was very nice to find Time Out in my hotel room in Kiev where I was on a tour. It helped me a lot there, too.
