Still not working and in hope of winning something -- will keep it up and look for that job too more eagerly than ever.

I was sent my RSVP for TOPMAN at 5pm on Nov 4th but I didn't check my email until the next day. I assumed I'd made a mistake & I didn't go. Maybe next time they could send the email a few days before. What a shame.

Has anyone else RSVPd as you're asked to for the Topman event tonight but not had a response? I'm not sure whether i've made a mistake...
    Thanks

The taste london comp was not a fix! I was quick off the mark and was one of the lucky people to win!
    So thank you!

I can guarantee the Taste London promotion is not a fix as I entered one earlier in the year and won! I use mine all the time and will be tempted to buy one next year. There is currently a promotion to buy them for £29.95 which is a great price for anyone that didn't manage to win one. Use promo code Tastespecial, offer ends 25th Sept at Midnight.

    Darren,
Just to let you know it wasnt a fix, I entered like so many others, however, the very next day got a confirmation email saying that I'd been one of the lucky thousand.
    You snooze you lose!
The offer and competition sections are great time out. Thanks a lot and keep up the great work.

    Hi Darren,
This was an incredibly popular promotion, and several thousand other people also entered within seconds of it going live, with the free cards going to the first thousand entries submitted to the database, all fair and square.
Don't forget you'll be receiving a month free so it's not all bad!
Hopefully we'll be able to run a similar promotion again in the future so keep a look out...

I'm highly sceptical about the taste london promotion. I entered this maybe ten seconds after the promotion opened - so would have expected to have been in the first 1000 entries, yet received an email today saying I didn't make it. Either there are 1000 people with very quick typing skills or else this competition was a fix!

    Hello Cristian
I was just making a comment. It is not a moan. In the interest of being environmentally friendly and to save costs on my printing and paper (I am redundant, so every little helps!), it would be nice for Time Out not to mislead. All they have to say is that it is free, like so many other things that they have advertised, go ahead enjoy etc, etc, no need to print off etc etc. that's all. I am not ungrateful. We live in a great city where a lot of things are free, and I am very grateful for that, and grateful for Time Out to let us know too.

Moan moan moan moan! Unfortunately the comments below show what an ungrateful and tight bunch you lot really are. Time Out team are offering FREEBIES which mean they don't cost you anything and you are not obliged to use them. If you're that fussed then why bother with this site? Stick your hand in your pocket for once and actually pay for something - if these offers work then great, what a bonus - if they don't then you haven't lost anything! Get a life and stop moaning about free things not being free - what a joke you lot are. Personally I want to thank Time Out as it goes a tad way towards making London more fun (in my humble opinion). All you freeloaders who moan don't realise how lucky we all really are - I've lived abroad in places where you can't get an idea of what's going on or what discounts you can get, at least we're in a Capital city where we have so many opportunities!

The Westfield Shimmer Gigs are open to all, so to say that "You have won a pair of tickets, download them below" is misleading. Also the current voucher for Films for a Fiver on Tuesday at BFI Southbank is also misleading. Films are a fiver on Tuesdays anyway!! What is going on Time Out? Stop wasting our time, money, ink, paper and the environment..

I emailed Time Out at two separate addresses to complain, and my comment has now been up for more than two weeks, but no response at all. It would appear they're not interested, but I certainly felt that the Time Out brand lost a lot of credibility and goodwill among those who attended that event. We were treated like fools, really -- was the expectation that we wouldn't notice it was a completely open event and that our 'tickets' were pointless??

I agree with Amy - I feel royally done over by Timeout.... I 'won' tickets to the VV Brown gig at Westfield..... so I travelled all the way over Westfield and cancelled on some friends to discover it was just VV Brown playing to the whole of Westfield - no ticket required..... ABSOLUTE waste of my evening after a busy day at work.... do we get an explanation Timeout??

  15. Posted by Amy on 02 Aug 2009 21:50

Based on my experience of the VV Brown gig, I would not advise anyone to apply for 'free tickets' to the Shimmer events at Westfield. There was no separate enclosure for ticket holders, so in fact we hadn't 'won' anything. Any Westfield shopper could walk right up to the stage and there wasn't even a Time Out rep there checking for tickets - even printing them out was a waste of time, ink and paper. There were many unimpressed people, needless to say. VV Brown is obviously a great performer but the acoustics were terrible. All in all, I'd say don't bother. If you happen to be at Westfield doing some shopping, you'll be able to see and hear whatever you like, without being patronised into thinking that you've won something of value.
