Tony - I think you are right so will put a link on Twitter... I emailed Time Out to ask whether they wanted to know why people cancelled subscriptions. I had subscribed for many years. They didn't want to know. Which is also a shame.
I think the obvious answer is no - they couldn't care what readers have to say. Shame.
Does anyone from Time Out read these comments? It would be good to get a response to the complaints raised here. Or is this just to get people to sign up to your mailing list, if we don't uncheck the box below...?
My father purchased a gift subscription to TO on my behalf for 1 year which automatically rolled into a second year without his knowledge. When I queried the duration of the subscription it had already rolled into year 2 so I called the customer services team and they took my cancellation request verbally over the phone. No mention of having to write in to authorise the cancellation. To my utter dismay I realised 12 months later I was still receiving subscriptions and unbelievably, a third unauthorised direct debit had been taken.
I have just spoken with customer services and they advise it would be impossible for me to cancel over the phone, therefore no refund. Unbelievable. I am taking the matter up with the CAB.
Absolute joke having to write a letter to cancel. Was previously planning to re-subscribe later, no chance now.
yes, I have had the same thing. Had to cancel a letter by sending a letter in and then still charging me and no refund. They are jokers. Definitely make as difficult as possible to cancel without any explanation but very easy to extend.
How many other magazines out there automatically re-enroll your subscription and charge you with zero notice? And then when you request that your subscription be cancelled, then claim that you should have checked the cancellation policy on this website? Am I taking crazy pills? Time Out uses deceptive policies like this to lock you in and to take advantage. Be careful you don't get screwed like I did!!!
I agree with the comment above by Tony. Why do you have to write to cancel but you are allowed to start your subscription and extend it online? I asked the same question, does Time Out want to make it difficult to cancel. I just got an email directing me to this page but no explanation.
Why on earth do I have to write a letter if I want to cancel my subscription? It's almost as if TimeOut want to make it difficult and deter people from doing this.
i have not been getting my timeout magazine if you are not sending anymore i will cancel it thankyou
