Nice Jazz Festival
Between July 19 and 26, Nice hosts one of the biggest jazz festivals in Europe, featuring over 500 musicians. During the eight days, there are almost 100 concerts to choose from – many staged in the city’s atmospheric Roman amphitheatre.

La Promenade des Anglais
The ‘Walk of the English’ has been Nice’s seafront catwalk ever since wealthy British aristocrats enjoyed a stroll here in the eighteenth century. Still very popular, especially on warm Sunday evenings, the palm-lined promenade follows the graceful curve of the Baie des Anges.
Vieux Nice
Nice’s beautiful Old Town (‘Vieux Nice’) is full of pastel-hued houses, baroque architecture and narrow lanes shaded from the Mediterranean sun. The best way to explore is on a guided tour on Saturday mornings. They start from the tourist office at 5 Promenade des Anglais.

Hill towns
Take a break from the glamorous beaches and head for the hills. Saint-Paul de Vence has over 70 art galleries to browse. The fragrant town of Grasse is known as the perfume capital of the world; there are traditional perfumeries and even a perfume museum .
