Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of Inside Llewyn Davis

Time Out says

The Coen Brothers’s folk music drama ‘Inside Llewyn Davies’ divided audiences: some, like our own Dave Calhoun, found it bewitching and heartfelt, evocatively recreating the downtrodden mood of 1960s Greenwich Village. Others found the film slight and unengaging, particularly its ersatz take on the music of the period. This live document, originally aired on American TV, pairs up the leading lights of American roots – including Gillian Welch, David Rawlings and Jack White – with some of those who made music specifically for the film, including the highly dubious Marcus Mumford. If you liked the movie, go see – if you didn’t, best to steer well clear.
