Time Out says

This Boulting brothers comedy (from a novel by Henry Cecil) about the absurdities of the British legal system chugs along amiably but lacks real satirical bite. The usual gallery of eccentric British character actors are out in force (Malleson the absent-minded pupil master, Terry-Thomas the court-hardened swindler), giving their usual mannered but doughty performances. Carmichael is the innocent abroad, a newly qualified barrister exposed to the baffling rituals and bizarre antics of his peers.
