  • I have a dream: Private Lives, with Daniel Craig as Elyot, Natasha McElhone as Amanda, Kevin McKidd as Victor, and Emily Mortimer as Sybil, directed by Stephen Fry. Film, television, West End or Broadway, I don't care.

  • I think Daniel Craig is a fine actor but, as with "The Golden Compass", he made a poor choice in starring in TGWTDT. I'm sure it's easy to get carried along with names with David Fincher, and assume that something unique and highly regarded - like 7even - is sure to be the result. Though I didn’t read it, “The Golden Compass” was a highly regarded book, yet the film was dreadful. . But I would have thought the release of the Fincher version following less than two years after the Niels Arden Oplev version would have rung warning bells with Craig - especially given the volume of book sales, and the manner in which all three original films were released within the same year. The books and original films have a strong following. I'm not sure I'd describe the original/Oplev version has having cult status yet, but for many the film's hallowed ground. . During the first few months of the original/Oplev version, I saw TGWTDT two or three times. I can't see myself seeing the Fincher version for a second time, nor buying it on DVD. Given the vast amount of money Hollywood's spent on advertising the Fincher version in the UK, versus the very conservative budget for the Oplev version, there were barely 30 people in the (Central London) cinema on opening night last night - about 10% of what it could hold. . With the Oscars just around the corner, there’ll be a constant flurry of three/four/five star films to go see between now and the end of February. I’d seriously think twice about seeing the Fincher version of TGWTDT and see something else instead.

  • Daniel Craig's the man, he sounds like a normal and down-to-earth guy who knows how fortunate he is to do what he loves- and be financially and creatively fulfilled in the process- he sounds like someone you could have a few drinks with no airs or graces involved (unlike many other famous people). Interesting to read his comments on 'Quantum of Solace' - which is NOWHERE as bad as some vocal critics would have you believe - it is a pity they didn't have the time to properly get the shooting script to a place where they wanted it prior to shooting beginning, plus it's a shame Dave Calhoun didn't follow through on Daniel Craig's comments on that film and enquire how much more work they felt the script needed and how different the final movie would've been had the writers' strike not curtailed the scriptwriting process. I think the real problem with 'Quantum...' was the fact they tried to rush the movie out for a May 2008 release instead of a more realistic November 2008 date, leaving to original director Roger Michell leaving because he felt pressured to start prepping the movie when he hadn't even seen the script yet, and when Marc Forster came on board, he ditched the original script and started a new one from scratch, the trouble was they simply didn't have the time to fully develop one, owing to the aforementioned writers' strike, it's not that the final movie is bad, it just needed five or six more minutes of breathing room throughout to really give it added texture and depth, not to mention balancing out the pretty relentless action sequences, and the original ending should have been more conclusive and kept in the final cut, but alas, really looking forward to 'Skyfall', I think this one is gonna be something special (a' la 'Casino Royale')...

  • Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara donated two tickets to the premiere of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo to Brad Pitt’s Make It Right foundation. The opportunity is being auctioned off here: www.ebay.com/makeitright. All proceeds benefit Make It Right, which builds sustainable, affordable homes for families in need. It's a great opportunity for any fans who'll be in NYC on December 14!

  • I just love this interview. So much info about Daniel as he really is, down to earth and very willing to admit and share his shortcomings and his thoughts. Who said he was a journalist's nightmare! I just can't wait to see him as Mikael Blomkvist. I am re reading the books with him in mind. He's perfect for this role. And of course Bond - well I have spent the past fifty years with James Bond, and Daniel is the best Bond without a doubt.

  • Daniel Craig is a boss!! Many factors are involved in any estimate of human. His words are ALIVE, and impressive. His ironic remark often conveys an intended meaning obliquely sometimes, but he usually speaks forthright and to the point. He never try to keep up appearances. WHAT A MAN!! Can't wait to see his Mikael 'egoist' Blomkvist. Thank you for the great interview!

  • Great interview! The his best one I have read ever, the second one is GQ. Craig sounds like so unique, and has a sense of dry humor. I totally adore his elusive humanity. Stay just the way you are!
