Time Out says

Kids will likely be underwhelmed by the predictable plot of this lurid animation, while adults will soon be wishing its obnoxious naughty-boy lead character Ernie gets munched by a velociraptor.

When Ernie, his sister and their friend Max get transported in an egg-shaped time machine to the Cretaceous period, they’re adopted by a T-Rex mother, whose own baby is swapped into the present. But when the machine breaks, the trio have to find their own way home.

The animation is pretty patchy (and looks nastily computer-gamey in one river-ride scene), while the unrealistic reptiles are a bit like Barney the purple TV dino. There’s a long, surprisingly dark dinosaur fight scene that’s both crammed too tight and rushed through, and a heap of ancient-reptile educational opportunities missed. A Jurassic disappointment.
