Free cinema tickets to see ‘Citizen Kane’

We're giving away 50 pairs of tickets to see Orson Welles's masterpiece at the Prince Charles cinema

To celebrate the Blu-ray release of the Orson Welles directed masterpiece, 'Citizen Kane', we're giving away 50 pairs of tickets to an exclusive Time Out screening of the restored film on Sunday November 18 at the Prince Charles cinema.

If you’ve never seen it, you’re in for a treat in the tale of the rise and fall of a media baron (the story is based loosely on William Randolph Hearst) played by Welles himself. For everyone else, here’s a chance to remind yourselves of just what a towering landmark this film is.

The film begins at 6.20pm and we’ll be serving a free drink for every winner beforehand at 6pm.

'Citizen Kane' review

  • Thematically less resonant than some of Welles' later meditations on the nature of power, perhaps, but still absolutely riveting as an investigation of a citizen - newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst by any other name - under suspicion of having soured the American Dream.

  • In my opinion, Citizen Kane was one of the finest films ever made. It would be absolutely brilliant to see it on a big screen!
