Time Out says

Stewart in his batty but amiable persona as small-town boozer Elwood P Dowd, who imagines a close friendship with a 'pooka' (a mischievous familiar of Irish folklore), in this case a 6' 4” white rabbit called Harvey. His anxious sister (Hull) tries to get him certified, but the film suggests that the fantasy is quite harmless. Charming, lightweight stuff (from a play by Mary Chase), so long as you can take Stewart's ingenuousness, but it does wear thin.

  • This movie was entertaining and a delight to watch. I'd give it 3 and a half out of 4 as far as black and whites go.
