Bank clerk Richardson returns home from work to quiet suburbia at his usual time, only to be told by his wife (Leighton) that he's been missing for 24 hours. Suffering from apparent amnesia, he gets another shock when evidence incriminates him in theft and murder committed during the time he can't account for. Richardson had starred on stage in RC Sherriff's source play. His air of concerned bewilderment is just right for this modest suspenser; and in his only time behind the camera, he makes a decent fist of maintaining tension, although the proscenium arch never seems far away.

Betty Reade

lHome at Seven is an excellent film. Tension grows at a startling rate in this mystery with a superb cast of believable characters. A real cliffhanger right to the end.
