Time Out says

Stash the old raincoat if you venture out to sample this vehicle for American porno star Chambers which, to judge from the marketing, is being offered in Britain as middle class 'acceptable' skinflick. The original Insatiable that set Manhattan dinner parties a-chatter was longer by thirteen minutes, as was stud star Holmes by several inches. The censor has snipped all the hardcore but passed the macho brutality of the foreplay and orgasmic cutaways, leaving a handful of reels that could be projected in any order to the same numbing effect.

  • I haven't seen the expurgated version, which sounds pretty pointless, so I'll review the original instead. *Insatiable* is one of the highest-quality explicit films ever made, and my personal favorite. It's technically comparable to many Hollywood films, and features several pieces of original music, my favorites being the instrumental theme and the duet version of "Morning, Noon and Nighttime," heard during the Jesie St. James-John Leslie love scene (scene 6 in the iCandy DVD). As to this and the other sex scenes, only one is the least bit "macho" in my estimation, the borderline-coercive pool table scene between Marilyn Chambers and David Morris. Not entirely my cup of tea, but I don't know that that's a gendered thing -- the blogger called Goddess, at The World of Goddess, liked that scene best of all. I'm nuts for the aforementioned song, If anyone knows where to find the duet version *sans* dialog, please contact me. I'm on the Web.
