Time Out says

Far better than most Durbin vehicles, enlivened no end by the presence of Laughton as the cantankerous old millionaire who insists on meeting his grandson's fiancée before he dies. The girl can't be reached and so Durbin, a hatcheck girl, is enlisted to deceive the old man, with predictable complications. Cheerful and charming, although one could well do without the chirpy songs warbled by Durbin.

One of the best romantic movie. It is so long ago that i saw this film, but I can remember this as yesterday. It's still impressed me. Now I am become curious and want to see this movie again.

Anne Vasey

One of the best of Deanna Durbin's musical comedies, with a witty and charming script and delightful chemistry between Laughton and Durbin. The singing performances are top-notch, and the whimsical plot is a winner.
