Time Out says

The team that had such a success with A Man Called Horse decided to try their luck again with this sensationalist bit of cod anthropology based on a true story. In the 1820s, the guide to a fur-trapping expedition in the great North West is left by his captain to die after being savaged by a grizzly. His desire for revenge is expiated after he faces the violence of nature and several gruelling Indian tribal rituals. Explicit, simplistic, and if you've seen A Man Called Horse, highly predictable.

What a traumatic story. The first time I saw it I was traumatized and could only give this a 3 rating, but now seeing it again I have to rate it 5. The life lessons learned are wonderful and real. I love this show and Richard Harris is great, everyone should see this movie!
