Re-issue of K Asif's 1960 war drama. Set in the 16th century AD, the film charts the tempestuous relationship of Akbar The Great, ruler of the Mughal empire, and his eldest son Prince Salim, the heir to the throne whose love of women and wine constantly infuriates his father. When Salim falls under the spell of dancer and temptress Anarkali, Akbar takes matters into his own hands, ordering that the boy suffer a most terrible punishment.
