Time Out says

Based on a story by Philip MacDonald, a cheap but reasonably effective little Universal thriller, with gambler Donlevy stumbling across a murder, getting involved with a girl (of course), and finding himself up against Nazi agents. George Barnes' photography of a Hollywoodian London is nicely atmospheric, while Daniell is as marvellously sour and sinister as ever.
