Time Out says

An allegorical Broadway play (by Sutton Vane) from the mid-'20s became a mildly intriguing early talkie. Howard's a passenger on a sombre ocean liner bound who-knows-where, lost souls heading for their final destination. The dialogue is heavy going and primitively recorded, but Hal Mohr did an evocative job with the ghostly visuals.
