Pack Up Your Troubles
Time Out saysThe second Laurel and Hardy feature, admittedly patchy but generally underrated. Perhaps because, after the rumbustious army farce of the beginning, it switches to a quieter vein of sentimental comedy as the boys fulfil a promise to deliver a dead comrade's little daughter to the care of her wealthy grandparents (only clue, the family name is Smith). Best moment is when Stan tries to tell the child a bedtime story and finds himself sleepily on the receiving end. Look out for director Marshall's cameo as a bad-tempered army cook.
