Time Out says

Groovy photographer Bacon and free-spirited cellist Sedgwick find their passions causing havoc when fires keep breaking out as they do the nasty. The first time a lava lamp explodes, the second time round though, and the joke's already gone too far. Presumably, real-life couple Kev 'n' Kyra had a few giggles making it, but a match carefully placed under the script would have saved everyone a lot of trouble.

Taking the idea of passion being as hot as a burning flame literally, this is a clever, witty if somewhat surreal comedy, starring Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick, the real Mr and Mrs Bacon. So, no degree of separation there. Every time the amorous couple feel the heat of their romance, things really do catch fire. Ari (Bacon) takes to drinking developer fluid (he's a photographer) when he's not taking 'pictures of ewe.' Great fun.
