Time Out says
Fine as long as it sticks to recreation of period and place, and stays with a simple enough plot - 1964 mod Daniels' Brighton beach battles with the Rockers, and his on/off love affair with Ash. But as the film progresses, it becomes bogged down in silly moralising and metaphysics, struggling to accommodate itself to the absurd story of The Who's rock opera. Good performances, though, and directed with admirable energy for the first half.Author: GA
