Rab Ne Bana De Jodi

The ‘King Khan’ is back, and this time we get another double dose of him! Surinder’s (Khan) mundane life in Amritsar as a clerk at ‘Punjab Power’ is transformed when he falls for the bubbly Taani (Sharma). Chopra’s ‘love and the average bloke’ blockbuster puts Bollywood’s biggest superstar at centre stage from the outset. Khan’s hammy antics dominate and he never fails to amuse. His ‘geek to Greek God’ makeover is unconvincing but comic and camp. The highlight is an ‘item’ dance song sequence featuring SRK that pays homage to classic Bollywood hits, with cameos from some top, hot heroines. Silly, lightweight, overlong and unoriginal; this is nevertheless shameless romantic entertainment that will undoubtedly be a hit. Welcome back Raj!
